The Brong Ahafo regional minister, Kwaku Asomah-Cheremeh, has suspended the engineer and the building inspector at the Techiman Municipal Assembly and ordered that their accounts be frozen until further notice.

The suspension follows the collapse of a two-storey building that caved in on Wednesday, June 28 at about 3:30 am killing one person with another being hospitalised at the Techiman Holy Family Hospital. The victim on admission at the hospital is said to be responding to treatment.

The Techiman North District Chief Executive, Peter Mensah, in an interview, briefed Class FM’s Brong Ahafo regional correspondent, Claude Kumi Abisa, after a closed door meeting with the minister, MDCEs, the Ghana National Fire Service, and the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) officials in the region.

According to the DCE, a seven-member committee has been set up to probe the accident.
